Commissions in Public Space

ALL TOGETHER & NOW
Preschool Skeppet, Adolfsberg, commissioned by Orebro Konsthall

Technique: 3D animated tree, laser cut acrylic
Materials: digital print (washable wallpaper), acrylic glass; black and mirrored

An artistic assignment for a preschool which had been running for a while. We met the children, listened to their thoughts about the world, about us people and about all the animals. From here we decided to focus on the dining room which is a multiused space for different activities.

We created a “tree” where animals from all parts of the world were placed, an artwork that has the possibility to provide inspiration which can lead to conversations about origin and identity, about differences and equality, about how we can create a better world together.

LIVE SPACE
Temp installation over street, commissioned by Orebro Konsthall and Open Art

Technique: installation over street
Material: polyester fabric, acrylic paint, metal, wire

The color red is associated with violence; anger, fire, blood but it also represents love and passion. The grass-hopper being a bearer of mental qualities, a source of power, able to jump, walk and fly is a symbolic reaction especially from our particular sense of our present time.

Our intention is to encourage people, to invite us on a daily color adventure and maybe itch us through the thinking process, to choose our own response – is it blood or is it love? Symbolically we hope to transform possibilities into abilities of not giving up, of changing focus, of moving on… of setting down one foot and make a step forward.

LET’s PLAY & Sing
Preschool Klöverängen, Lillån, commissioned by Orebro Konsthall

Site-specific installation

Materials: acrylic resin, epoxy and wood
Size: variable

The installation is intended to strengthen the outdoor space that teachers use to read fairy tales and stories. Two cushions are placed next to a grasshopper that the children can sit on or play with – a mascot for the fairy tales.

Simple shapes have created a place that feels cozy to gather around. To lift out elements (pillows) that are usually associated with ”inside” and place these in an outdoor environment contributes to a transformation of the patio, which allows the children and staff to fantasize bigger.

The cushions have a lace pattern that is not only decorative, it provides good anti-slip protection and prevents slipping. The grasshopper is made of wood and feels like it jumped straight out of a storybook.

The installation wants to create an environment that stimulates imagination, elicits joy and play, while at the same time offering the opportunity for concentration and conversation.
