ACRYLIC SHEETS
Technique: UV-print, screen, engraving
Material: acrylic & household paint, paper, etc
The acrylic sheet work is sometimes a pre-step before the acrylic box work. The process began when we wanted to test an idea of creating large slides or negatives that you could peek through when holding up towards a light source. This idea of transparency was for us who works on the same images but not always at the same time very appealing and made us full of play to experiment. Today this is a technique and a way of finding other entrances and to deepen our painting collaboration.
The acrylic sheets are intimate when you work with them and later when you’re beginning to find combinations it becomes a magic puzzle which we really enjoy playing, there are always surprises that we absolutely could not think out before. So, the idea of preparing for CHANCE to happen or to build a landing strip for CHANCE to arrive is an inspiration from master John Cage which still is a force of transpiration for us.
