Accidental Series
Accidental Series

Each roll: 100cm wide
Like the surrealists who wanted to give voice to the unconscious mind, the Accidental Series stands as a celebration of the subconscious – an evocative blend of expressionism and surrealism. It embodies the instinctive act of ’cleaning the tools,’ free from the compulsion of a specific outcome, or control over the result. When experimenting with various techniques and materials, we’re left with dirty brushes, and pre-mixed media, which if not used, dry up and die. This ongoing dilemma sparked the creation of the Accidental Series.
Every time we begin a large or more expansive project, we prepare additional materials to absorb the excess paint. In these ‘cleaning moments,’ we embrace spontaneity, acting freely without calculation or plan. Today, these works have become an integral part of our artistic process, allowing us to sustain a sense of playful, collaborative freedom.
In many ways, they can be read as ‘blind paintings’ – born from an absence of an exact idea, emphasizing more on the HERE and NOW, which in many ways is the essence of our artistic search: to convey complex emotions, thoughts and ideas through form, color, volume, and beyond… reaching for the sublime
